MIDDLE SCHOOL

The Pinewood Acres Middle School experience fosters discovery, innovation, and exploration with a global perspective.

In the Middle School, students develop the fundamental skills necessary for a successful future through community service, leadership skills, academia and individual talents. The faculty is comprised of highly educated teachers who are devoted to addressing the needs of the Middle School student. The average class size is fourteen students, which allows for individual attention. Students establish their own identities on the Middle School campus where they are guided and nurtured as individuals.

Middle School Students take four core courses each day: Mathematics, English, Social Studies, and Science. Physical education and Foreign Language courses, as well as yearly and quarterly fine arts electives, are provided on weekly rotations.

In addition to the core curriculum, Middle School students learn skills that have been developed purposely for them including instruction in study techniques, research skills, note taking, time management and organization. In the Media Center, students acquire the necessary skills to electronically locate and check out books as well as navigate electronic databases. These skills are critical to success.
